Giving the playable character a friendly Salmonid inSplatoon 3is an interesting twist, especially with the greater emphasis being put on Salmon Run overSplatoon 2. Salmon Run was greatly enjoyed by the fanbase inSplatoon 2, but many were frustrated by the limited schedule that it was available to play during. Now, inSplatoon 3, Salmon Run is not only available around the clock and calendar, but has also seen a bit of a redux in the form ofBig Run. Having a small friendly Salmonid as a companion while the player is simultaneously fighting aggressive Salmonids more than ever has struck some players as curious, even leading some to think that playable Salmonids could become a reality at some point in the future of the series.
