Not too long ago, Square Enix announced that a PS5 version ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewould be coming later this year, in June to be specific, and with that would come along some brand-new story content.Episode Yuffie is paid DLCthat allowsFinal Fantasyfans the chance to control Yuffie to see what she was up to during the events of the first part ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake. The DLC is only available for PS5 owners, as it takes full advantage of the console’s power, offering shorter loading times, improved visuals, and some other neat enhancements.

But, ever since the announcement of this special episode that adds to the overall narrative of the Remake universe, some fans have been wondering just whenFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2would be coming, as it’s been almost a year now since Part 1 came out. Luckily, fans will be happy to know that Part 2 is on the way and will be the main focus for the team.

Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomurarecently did an interview with the Japanese magazine, Famitsu, in which he spoke about the development of bothFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeand the upcoming Yuffie DLC. While the entire interview is in Japanese, details from the article were translated by reliable gaming news source @nibellion on Twitter. Nomura mentions that there is no further DLC planned forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeand that the team will now be focusing on releasing Part 2 for now.

Some other interesting details were also highlighted by Nibellion, such as the fact that the team originally planned to only release a PS5 version ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeinstead of the DLCand thatIntergrade(the enhanced version of FF7R) “helped the team prepare for development on the PS5.” Nomura says that the transition from PS4 to PS5 went smoothly and that there is a possibility for future DLC to release after the “next big game is out,” which we can assume isFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, or whatever Square Enix decides to title it.

And speaking of Square Enix, this isn’t the only upcomingFinal Fantasy 7-connected title coming out. The company is planning to really flesh out the universe of the PS1 classic with two new mobile games.Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldieris a battle royale gamethat’s set decades before the events of the main game andEver Crisisis an episodic RPG that focuses on plot elements from spin-offs likeDirge of CerberusandCrisis Core.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeand Yuffie’s DLC will release for the PlayStation 5 on July 10, 2025.
