The actor that played Iden Versio inStar Wars: Battlefront 2’s single-player campaign has hinted at a potential role inThe Mandalorian’s second season. Janina Gavankar responded to a fan-made casting list forThe Mandalorian’s second season saying that fans would have to ask one of the main writers and directors ofThe Mandalorian, Dave Filoni, for more information.

WhileStar Wars: Battlefront 2was hugely controversial upon its launch in 2017, its single-player campaign was very well received. At the time, it started a conversation about the need for moreStar Warssingle-player games. That’s in part due to the impressive performance of Janina Gavankar as Iden Versio. It may even have been one of the reasonsStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas greenlit, even though the two games are largely unrelated.

Iden Versio is an Empire soldierat the start of theStar Wars: Battlefront 2campaign. The game’s story begins following the death of the Emperor at the end ofStar Wars: Return of the Jedi. Needless to say, Iden goes through an adventure befitting the fall of the Empire and becomes quite the hero in the process. She’s an exciting character to play as and has a large part of her life left unexplored at the end of the Battlefront 2 campaign.

Fittingly,The Mandalorianalso takes place afterStar Wars: Return of the Jedi. The Mandaloriantakes place about 5 years after the end of the film, which is a bit later than when Battlefront 2’s campaign takes place. However, sinceIden’s story inBattlefront 2ends before the events ofThe Mandalorian, it’s absolutely possible for Mando to stumble into Iden on one job or another.

It bears repeating that there’s no official confirmation that Janina Gavankar will reprise her role as Iden Versio inThe MandalorianSeason 2. The tweet in question uses a fan-made casting list and isn’t accurate. As such, her possible role is simply a matter of well-intentioned fan speculation and rumor. Still, if Gavankar is all for it then there’s definitely a possibility.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.The MandalorianSeason 2 premieres fall 2020 on the Disney+ streaming service.
