Summary

AStardew Valleyplayer has shared their discovery that Leah didn’t go to sleep in her own bed, and instead just passed out on the floor. The odd find not only amused fellowStardew Valleyplayers, but also caused a bit of a problem for the one who discovered it.

Stardew Valleyfollows a realistic day/night schedule, with players waking up bright and early in the morning and closing out the night at 2 am at the latest. Players need to make it to their beds before this cut-off or risk losing items and energy for the following day, but NPCs also follow a schedule all their own, which includes heading home and sleeping. However, it seems that Leah is a bit different than the rest.

Stardew Valleyplayer Strawberrysodastars shared their finding with fellow fans, offering a couple of screenshots showingLeah’s cabinwith Leah asleep on the floor. Her bed is visible in the room, but for whatever reason, she didn’t make it there and instead fell asleep in the entryway of the front door. It’s an amusing sight, to be sure, but also one that caused a problem for the player, as they couldn’t leave once she fell asleep. Sleeping NPCs can’t be pushed or woken, so the only options available would be to quit out and restart the day, or allow themselves to pass out in Leah’s cabin. The player isn’t far enough into the game to have a teleportation device to get out.

Buggy Sleeping NPC Shows Stardew Valley’s Attention to Detail

Other players expressed their amusement at the scene, though some also expressed surprise at the level of detail made visible by this odd moment.Stardew ValleyNPCsclimb into their beds and fall asleep at night, but due to the blankets, nothing beyond their head is visible. However, it seems that developer ConcernedApe actually created sprites with the whole body for sleeping animations, even if they’re not ordinarily seen.

While being able to visit NPCs in their homes is one of the perks of befriending them, players may want to stay out of Leah’s house close to the end of the day to avoid getting stuck there. It’s not clear if Leah does this every time she goes to sleep, but at least one other player noted having experienced the same thing. Those who want to try and see if for themselves should either plan on resetting the day or bringing awarp totemto get out of there before their own character passes out at 2 am.
