Summary

AStarfieldplayer has shared an idea to make custom Vasco units or build them from scratch. Vasco is a robotic companion inStarfieldthat will be the first follower players will encounter, but this concept may offer a way to make it even better.

BeforeStarfieldwas released, Vasco was already a beloved character through its promotional material.Starfield’s Vascois the Constellation expeditionary robot made by Lunar Robotics, and the player will meet it early in a playthrough. Like otherStarfieldcompanions, players can load up Vasco with excess loot. Beyond this helpful utility, Vasco will also offer unique dialogue options and can enter combat during firefights. While Vasco is already an advancedStarfieldrobot, one fan has an idea to improve it even more.

Reddit user Spartansoldier-175 recently shared several images highlighting theirStarfieldidea in a post. TheStarfieldfan seemingly has a liking for Vasco, and the screenshots focus on different designs that the robot should be able to swap between. The images range from a thick tank-like robot to a dog-like quadruped. Perhaps inspired byFallout 4’s Automatron DLC, Spartansoldier-175 states that their idea would allow players to customize their Vasco like theStarfieldspaceship or create one from scratch. Similar to someFallouttitles, there’s a plethora ofresources thatStarfieldplayers can gather. These resources would presumably be used to create different parts of the custom Vasco.

Beyond altering Vasco’s design with Spartansoldier-175’s idea, the color may also be adjusted to create the ideal robot companion. Spartansoldier-175’sStarfieldimages include black, blue, gold, red, and white robots. The color scheme would likely be limited to the same one used bytheStarfieldship designer. Given thatStarfieldships face their limitations, changing Vasco would also likely have restrictions. While manyStarfieldplayers have taken to Vasco since the game was released, being able to customize it could make the companion a clear fan favorite.

Adding another customizable element toStarfieldcould further emphasize player freedom and add replayability. If implemented, it’s likely that players would have to go toStarfield’s Lunar Robotics to alter their companion Vasco. Because Bethesda has added robot building through DLC in prior games, it’s possible that this idea eventually gets implemented intoStarfield. Even though some fans wish for this adjustment, it’s unclear what Bethesda has planned forStarfieldDLC.

Starfieldis available now for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
