This year’s Gamescom will be a physical event again, and to celebrate such an occasion, a lot of video game companies are bringing their latest and upcoming titles to show off. Companies like Ubisoft andXbox have announced Gamescom 2022 appearancesand what they plan to do with their time at the event. Bethesda will also be at this year’s Gamescom, with its own booth where fans can get a look at upcoming titles such asRedfallandStarfield.

A recent post on Bethesda’s official website had fans excited as it seemed to indicate that newStarfieldgameplay would be shown at this year’s event. The first and last time gamers peeked atStarfieldgameplaywas back at the Summer Game Fest in June, and so many were hoping that some new footage would make its way to Gamescom. However, it has since been clarified thatStarfieldwon’t be showing anything new at the event in August. Instead, Bethesda has confirmed what fans can expect to see from its latest sci-fi RPG.

The original post, which can be viewed below, was later updated to clarify that fans could expect to see a replay of theStarfieldandRedfallgameplay shown at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. That update was then given another coat of paint to remove the mention ofStarfieldaltogether, meaning that some questioned whether the game would even be at Gamescom. However, Bethesda has confirmed that the game will be at this year’s event in the form of a life-sized VASCO statue at the very least.

VASCO is a robot and one of thenew companions forStarfield. With a wide frame and long, mechanical limbs, VASCO has an impressive design meant to reflect an industrial robot that has been retrofitted to help the player on their voyage. Their appearance at Gamescom will give fans a chance to take a picture with one of the characters they will be venturing around the galaxy with when the game launches in 2023.

The news thatStarfieldwill have a limited presence at Gamescom is likely going to disappoint some fans, but there are plenty of other titles that will be showing off new content at the event. Recently, titles likeHigh on LifeandHogwartsLegacyhave confirmed that new gameplaywill be shown at Gamescom 2022. Also, Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley has promised world premieres for gamers during his Opening Night Live stream which will take place on the first night of Gamescom.
