Summary
Ever since the series went on an indefinite hiatus following the final episode of the Tournament of Power arc, the return of the legendaryDragon Ballhas been up in the air for quite some time. Despite there being 2 incredible canon movies released since the hiatus for fans to enjoy, along with an upcoming series calledDragon Ball: Daima, fans have eagerly been waiting to see the next step in the Saiyan’s journey.
However, even with the series' hiatus, the manga has continued its regular serialization, pumping out a great amount of content concerning the future of the franchise. Due to this, there are a lot of new characters and adventures that fans of the series simply cannot wait to see getanimated in the second season, so let’s break down the best moments that fans can expect to see in the second part ofDragon Ball Super.

Story Arc
Broly Arc
Almost a year after the ending of theDragon Ball Superanime, fans were delighted to see that the next installment in the series would come in the form of a canon movie that brought back a beloved character from the extendedDragon Balluniverse; Broly. When Broly made his return to the franchise, fans were left joyous as they not only made him canon, they also fixed most of the downsides of the original character, makingthis version of the Saiyana far superior one!
What’s going on? Have you ever seen a Saiyan like this before?

Why it’s worth the wait
TheDragon Ball Super: Brolymovie is often regarded as the best movie of the entire franchise. With stunning animation, great pacing, and insane fights, this movie does fan service right. The first 2 arcs ofSuperwere shown to retell the story of the 2Dragon Ball Supermovies, so for season 2, this could be done for this film as well. A longer telling of this arc promises to flesh out Broly even more and further extend the incredible battles that this arc promises.
Just like Broly, Gogeta was initially a character who made his debut in aDragon Ball Zmovie, which meant that he was initially a non-canon character. By having Broly’s strength be far superior to Goku and Vegeta’s, theprotagonists would later fuse, bringing back the beloved fusion and finally making him canon. Gogeta’s amazing power was enough to give every fan of the franchise goosebumps, so his debut in the second season of the anime promises to be just as electrifying.

We are Gogeta. Kakarot and Vegeta have merged to take Broly down!
Gogeta is already an overpowered character, so when he goes Super Saiyan Blue, he enters an entirely new realm. This is perfectly showcased in his one-sided battle against Broly who, despite being thoroughly outmatched, still puts on a very impressive display of power. Their fight is cemented as one of anime’s finest, so if it’s retold in season 2, it will be just as awesome to witness!

Moro Arc
Dragon Ball Superintroduced a brand-new and terrifying villain in Moro. Although his initial appearance was an old and decrepit man who seemed to be way past his prime, he quickly escaped from the Galactic Prison and went on a spree, absorbing planets of life wherever he could. After many battles against the Z-Fighters, he eventually absorbed the powers of OG-73,becoming far more powerful and dangerous.
I am Moro, consumer of worlds! The God’s creations are mine to devour!

Moro was already insanely powerful and had unique abilities. However, his absorption of OG-73 meant that he was now equipped with high-level magic and the ability to copy other’s techniques. This transformed the villain into a far younger appearance that was said to have terrorized the cosmos 10 million years ago, who was so strong that he punched a hole through Goku’s chest, almost killing him!
Ultra Instinct Makes Its Return In A Brilliant Way
Debut
Dragon Ball Super, Episode 110, “Goku Enkindled! The Awakened One’s New Ultra Instinct!”
Tournament of Power Arc
In the closing moments of theDragon Ball Superanime, Goku admits that he can no longer use the powerful Divine Technique of the Angels. This point was further exacerbated in the Broly movie where, despite getting beaten to the point of death, Goku could not reawaken this power. However, in the Moro arc, Goku eventually undergoestraining in the technique with Whis and Merus, after which he learns to properly control it. The form then returns in an unexpected but amazing way.
The truth is, I ain’t a hero of justice or anything else like that. But anyone who tries to hurt my friends… is gonna pay!

Although this power belongs solely to Goku, the final battle with Moro exhibits everyone’s involvement. This is because everyone lends their energy to Vegeta’s Forced Spirit Fission, which he gathers and throws at Goku. This essentially acts as a small Spirit Bomb to give him energy, due to which this influx of energy awakens a special power within Goku, one which allows his Ultra Instinct to form a giant spirit avatar composed of pure energy, showing a unique power-up the likes of which are seldom seen in the series.
Granolah the Survivor Arc
The Granolah arc saw the heroes go to Planet Cereal and fight against a character who claimed to have everything taken from him by the Saiyans many decades ago. This character proved to be so powerful that he took on Ultra Instinct Goku and beat him in a fight, which then prompted Vegeta to join the battle. WhileGranolah initially thought of this to be a waste of time, Vegeta revealed his trump card; a transformation that housed the Destroyer God’s Power of Destruction which he had named Ultra Ego!
Kakarot’s body may have a mind of its own, but I’m all ego!

Over the years, many polls about the best character in the franchise have taken place, and the Prince of Saiyans often comes out on top due to his personality, character development, and sheer cool-factor. So, when this moment finally gets animated, it will surely break the internet like Ultra Instinct did, as it will finally show Vegeta reaching Goku’s realm of power but using his own way instead of trying to follow in his rival’s footsteps. This is sure to be one of the biggest moments in the history of anime!
The Granolah arc saw the Saiyans team up with the Cerealian to defeat Gas, who had turned into a zombified husk of a man that was hell-bent on destroying any who opposed his family. Despite all the heroes being in their most powerful forms, Gas still proved to be even more powerful until a familiar presence was sensed by everyone there. It was at this moment thatFrieza made his sudden and long-awaited returnto the franchise, and even went on to show his new Black Frieza form!

I couldn’t very well keep losing to you Saiyans my whole life, so I needed a bit of a power-up!
Why it’s worth the wait:
Frieza is the favorite villain of most fans of the series, so him making his return in a new and incredibly powerful form is sure to set the internet ablaze once it finally gets animated. The thematic purpose he serves for the heroes is very poignant, as he is the one to have taken their entire planet away from them, yet he continues to be a thorn in their side. His screen debut, much like Ultra Ego, could become one of the biggest moments in the history of the series!
Super Hero Arc
Gohan is a character that has long been out of action. This had been a common point of contention among fans, as this character is one who almost everyone fell in love with afterhis beat-down of Perfect Cell,so to see him turn into a background character was something that most were against. However, the Super Hero movie rectified this mistake by making him take center stage and tap into his potential to unlock a power that rivals Ultra Instinct!
Is that all? I guess it’s my turn.
Just like the other moments from the movies, this is one moment that fans have already seen. However, if the decision is made to reanimate the movies within the anime series, this moment will truly stand out as it finally shows Gohan reclaiming his status as one of the coolest characters inDragon Ball. Gohan Beast is a unique form to the Saiyan and one that effortlessly destroyed Cell Max!
