After the conclusion of the Warring States Period, Byakuren established the Hidden Mist Village in the Land of Water, relentlessly working towards cementing his newfound country as one ofthe Five Great Nations. Despite being a man of wisdom, Byakuren was a skeptic, as he even questioned Hashirama’s intentions for being too humble during the very first Five Kage Summit.
This skepticism was reflected in his leadership, as his reign was marked by limited interaction with other nations. While it was never exactly stated how Byakuren died, it was implied that he passed away due to his old age, possibly sometime before the initiation of the First Great Ninja War.

Despite his eccentric disposition, Gengetsu Hozuki’s unrivaled strength led him to the revered status of being the Mist’s Second Mizukage. With an inescapable genjutsu,a Kekkei Genkai, and the ability to liquidate his body at will, Gengetsu Hozuki possessed an unmatched arsenal, even enticing Kabuto to go through the trouble of acquiring his DNA for his Edo Tensei.
For reasons unexplained, Gengetsu bore a stern hostility towards the Second Tsuchikage, Muu. This ended up becoming the reason behind their demise, with the Gengetsu and Muu mutually killing each other in a cataclysmic battle. TheNarutoseries rarely expands on the history of the other ninja villages, and this very lack of exposition is why the fates of a few Kage remain unknown. The Third Mizukage is among the list of such Kage, though his case is rather absurd, as the series never even revealed his name.
However, it was implied that he was an extremely capable shinobi, considering he was the bodyguard of the First Mizukage during the Five Kage Summit. Since the Third Mizukage was quite young, and given the Hidden Mist’s political turmoil, it’s safe to assume that he was either assassinated or killed in battle. However, these are merely speculations, asNarutonever exactly revealed the actual fate of the Third Mizukage.
