But he’s definitely as terrifying and dangerous as the rest.

Dead Silencedelivers it all, from eerie moments to strong characters fighting for their lives. It has a small town setting and great direction from James Wan, who is known for crafting some of the most popular horror movies of the last ten years or so. Dead Silenceis about Jamie Ashen (Ryan Kwanten), whose wife Lisa Ashen (Laura Regan) is horribly killed at the beginning of the movie after they are given a box with a doll named Billy inside of it. Jamie goes back home to the small town of Raven’s Fair and learns that a ventriloquist named Mary Shaw (Judith Roberts), who he used to know, has passed away after terrible circumstances. Of course, nothing is as it seems and there’s more to Mary’s story.

Dead Silencehas many elements of a fun horror movie: a character dealing with emotions, a creepy small town, and best of all, an eerie doll who is haunting and memorable in every scene that they are in. Compared tothe killer doll Chucky, Billy might not be as famous or unforgettable. But he has a strange smile on his face that suggests there is more going on than people might assume. And Billy’s presence is unnerving for anyone who gets too close.

James Wan is a very popular filmmaker in the horror genre, but he has made some other types of films as well. Theending of the firstSawmoviehas one of the smartest plot twists and turns the entire story on its head.

AfterDead Silence, Wan directed the first movie in theInsidioushorror franchise, which hit movie theaters in 2010. He then directed 2013’sThe Conjuring, 2013’sInsidious: Chapter 2, 2015’sFurious 7,and 2015’sThe Conjuring 2.

In 2018, Wan directedAquaman. He took a break from directing for a few years and then directed 2021’sMalignant. He also directedAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which will be released on December 23rd, 2023. While fans wonder ifAquaman 2will be like the first movie, it’s still a highly anticipated film.

TheDead Silenceending is no surprise for fans of theInsidiousdirector James Wan. The ending of his horror movies are always shocking, from thedark ending ofInsidiousto the final moments ofSaw. After Jamie tries to destroy Billy by putting him in a fireplace, he finds out that Edward (Bob Gunton) has been killed. And that’s when the biggest plot twist in the movie comes out: Jamie thought he was talking to his father, but it was really an evil doll. When he believed that he heard his father’s voice, it was the voice of the doll Ella (Amber Valletta).

If anyone guessed that Jamie would be turned into an evil doll, they would definitely be right. Mary Shaw takes over Ella, who then ensures that Jamie will no longer be in human form. BeforeDead Silenceends, Mary is looking through an album of pictures of all the puppets that she has created.

James Wan wants to adapt a classic horror monster, and fans of the genre can’t wait to see what he does next. The ending ofDead Silenceproves that his movies are always surprising, fun, and very entertaining.
