PC gamers are going to have to spend less money to playThe Last of Us Part 1than PlayStation 5 players did when it originally launched back in September. The Last of Us Part 1is the latest in a long line of first-party Sony titles to make its way to PC.
The remake of one of PlayStaion’s most highly celebrated games was released last year to generally high praise after some fans were skeptical about whether a remake of such a recent game was necessary. Following the success of the remake, Sony made the move to expand the post-apocalyptic franchise’s audience to PC.The Last of Us Part 1follows otherpopular PlayStation titles such asHorizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man,Returnal,andGod of Warto PC as part of a recent effort by Sony to make games from their highly regarded first-party portfolio available on the platform.

The Last of Us Part 1is currently available on Steam and Epic Games Store, but at a lower price than itsoriginal $70 PlayStation 5 price tag. On both Steam and Epic, it’s sporting a cheaper $60 price tag with an optional $10 Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade which includes early item unlocks and weapon cosmetics. All first-party PS5 titles have recently made the jump to $70, but it looks like Sony’s PC ports are still holding strong at the lower $60 price point which is great for PC players.
It’s possible thatThe Last of Us Part 1’s status as a remake is keeping the price $10 cheaper; the recentResident Evil 4remake is also $60 on consoles and Steam. That being said, this is the first version ofThe Last of Usthat’s being made available on PC, so having a $70 tag might have made sense. Right now, withhow rough the PC launch ofThe Last of Us Part 1has beenfor many fans, it’s probably for the better that it’s available at a lower price point.
As Sony continues its efforts of making some of its most popular titles available on PC, it’s probably safe to expect even more PlayStation hits to make their way to the platform in the future. Now that PC players are getting to experienceThe Last of Us Part 1, it’s likely that demand for a PC port ofthe highly praisedThe Last of Us Part 2will begin to arise soon.
