Lord of the Rings: Gollumwill apparently be aPrince of Persia-like stealth-action using a branching narrative. WhileThe Lord of the Rings: Gollumwas initially unveiled only as a PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X game, it is now confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One as well.

The most recenttrailer ofLord of the Rings: Gollumcame with new details about the gameplay and story. Players will control Smeagol/Gollum after he loses the One Ring to Bilbo Baggins. After he goes to Mordor, is torturered, and reveals the location of the ring, he sets out on his journey to recover it. There will also be moments when players can choose between a Smeagol or a Gollum decision, and he will apparently have allies of some sort in this journey.

Thestealth elements of theLord of the Rings: Gollumare certainly intriguing. More information will eventually present itself, but the explanations so far from developer Daedelic point to the idea this will be a mostly non-combat game. Players will be able to enter new areas that are relatively restricted, but with more sneaking and progressing, those areas open up.

It is certainly exciting for Switch owners, or those who are unsure of when they will upgrade their PS4/Xbox One to PS5/Xbox Series X, thatLord of the Rings: Gollumwill be available to them. It’s always a bummer to get excited about a game announcement, with trailers and new information, only to realize that it cannot be enjoyed on the current platform.

Gollum’s story will start in approximately in the year 2463within theLord of the Ringsuniverse, and now so many more fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the narrative. It seems like a smart move from the developer to open up the game to a wider audience, as that almost always results in more sales.
