Last season’s finale saw comedian Midge Maisel suffer a major setback when, after unintentionally outing singer Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain) during a set, she is axed from his tour. The episode ends with Midge stranded at an airport with her agent Susie Myerson (Family Guy’s Alex Borstein) by her side. “We’re gonna be okay,” Susie says, in her thick Queen’s accent.TheMarvelous Mrs. Maiselseason 4’s trailer sees the duo back in action, planning Midge’s comeback. Set to the tune of Ethel Merman’s “Rose’s Turn,” Midge states her terms in a 1960s diner: “No more opening act gigs,” “I will only do gigs where I can say what I want,” and “Make me a headliner,” respectively. When Susie reminds her that this isn’t how the comedy business works — she is not male comedian Lenny Bruce, and cannot afford such mobility – Midge fires back, “Then let’s change the business,” setting the agenda for the upcoming season.

Amazon Prime’s synopsis for season 4 reads as follows: “It’s 1960 and change is in the air. Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft — and the places it takes her — creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her.” Viewers, then, can expect to see more of ex-husband Joel (Michael Zegen) and parents Abe (Tony Shalhoub) and Rose Weissman (Marin Hinkle) next season, as well as new faces, Kelly Bishop and Milo Ventimiglia.BothGilmore Girlsalums, this isn’t the first time the two have worked with showrunners Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino. Viewers can also expect more shenanigans from Midge, as the trailer shows the comedian up to her usual mischief, beating on a taxi in heels and a bodysuit, knocking over a waiter’s tray, and angrily dropping her mic mid-performance, and such.

Whilst previous seasons have dropped all episodes at once (allowing forsome nice binge-watching), new episodes ofThe Marvelous Mrs. Maiselwill be released twice a week for four weeks. For a quicker fix of Midge, however, one only has to turn to Brosnahan’s Instagram. The actress has been pretty active on there as of late, sharing behind-the-scenes photos of season 4, much to fans' amusement.
