As events come and go from HoYoverse action-RPGGenshin Impact, NPCs and certain locations are cycled in and out, and one fan has spotted what happens to the floating island when the Windblume event ends. TheGenshin ImpactWindblume event has transpired in Spring twice before, bringing unique challenges and rewards for players to unlock, but this player instead wanted to know where the floating island goes.
Like many live service games before it,Genshin Impacthas an annual calendarfull of events and other activities for players to enjoy beyond the major content patches. The Windblume festival includes minigames like Ballads of Breeze, Bullseye Balloons, and Floral Freefall, providing some variety to the normally action-packed gameplay. Accumulating points from completing these minigames will yield tickets that can be spent on items like Crowns of Insight, a commemorative balloon, Windsong lyre, Windblume Ode, and much more that are available for a limited time.

Reddit user XLNC07 has garnered 3,400 upvotes on a clip showing their character sitting at the long table on the floating island associated withtheGenshin ImpactWindblume festival. The video quickly turns into a loading screen before reaching the daily reward claim page that pops up at the beginning of each day if a player has pulled an all-night session. After grabbing their freebies, Mondstadt’s clip then shows the Traveler falling to the Mondstadt ground below, with the floating island nowhere to be seen despite the character having just been seated at the table.
What would normally be a fatal drop inGenshin Impactproves to be painless for XLNC07 as the body of water beneath the formerly floating island of the Windblume festival cushions their fall. The clip concludes withtheGenshin Impactprotagonistfloating off the coast of Mondstadt in the aftermath of uncovering what the Windblume event floating island does when the festival is over. As theGenshin Impactcalendar goes from one day to the next, events come to a close in the early morning when most players are sleeping, but XLNC07 is known for seeing what happens when the clock rolls over.
With the Hilichurls' Treasure Trove, Artful Intent, andVibro-Crystal Verification events inGenshin Impactset to end in the near future, more footage may reveal what happens to other areas when the calendar moves over to the next day. Though XLNC07’s video reveals the disappearance of the Windblume events' floating island, it’s currently unclear where HoYoverse stores such in-game locations for when it needs the assets again.
Genshin Impactis available now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, while a Nintendo Switch version is currently in development.
