The Incredible Hulkwas the last solo film for the iconic superhero, and it also was the introduction of one of his most dangerous enemies in Emil Blonsky, also known as The Abomination. He’sHulk’s equal in terms of physical attributes and is always known for giving the green titan a hard time in battle, and Tim Roth opened up about the character’s return inMarvel Studios’She-Hulkseries.
InMarvel Studios’The Incredible Hulk, Blonsky took it upon himself to become the monster that he is today, and the onlydifference between him and Hulkwas that he had the ability to retain his “human” personality and persona. It just so happens that he was already a bad person prior to his transformation, so the inside finally matched the outside.

Roth didThe Incredible Hulkyears ago because “he thought his kids would be embarrassed by it,” and so he did it for them while having a great time. Once he was approached with returning to Marvel in the form of appearing in the upcomingShe-Hulkseries for Disney Plus, he couldn’t help but say “yes.” Roth described the experience as “difficult at first” and goes on to tell the Hollywood Reporter, “It was only when Mark Ruffalo came in to shoot his stuff [reprising his role as Bruce Banner] that I went: ‘Oh, that’s how you do it! With a sense of humor!'” So, hopefully, this time around the technology will feel a lot less awkward during filming with all of the motion capture.
Abomination was one of Marvel’s underutilized villains. He got his due after being abig part ofThe Incredible Hulkfilm, but in terms of the universe as a whole, he barely has seen the spotlight. Hopefully, Marvel Studios takes this as a sign that the villains are just as important as the heroes, so they should be able to have a long “shelf life” rather than just being a “one film and done” adversary.
As of now, with Thanos is out of the picture, fans are hyped forvillains such as Doctor Doomas well as Galactus and Magneto. However, these are the “main villains” and Marvel would be wise to use the smaller villains in more properties in the same way lesser-known heroes make appearances in various crossovers. It should be more than justLokiwhose story gets extended, so this is hopefully the first of many.
