The Canadian took to Twitter over the weekend to explain that he has now contracted a double ear infection, complaining about face swelling and resulting difficulties with eating and even talking. Once his ears started bleeding, the streamer went to urgent care and was prescribed antibiotic drops on Saturday, October 22.

The face swelling still kept worsening over the following day, to the point xQc that could “barely hear,” according to a Sunday update posted on Twitter. This development suggests that Lengyel might have contracted a viral ear infection, since antibiotics are only effective against bacteria and don’t work against viruses. Either way, betweenxQc getting banned from YouTube for community guidelines violationsand this series of health issues, the content creator has had his fair share of difficulties over the course of this year.

The Quebec-based streamer, who first rose to fame as a professionalOverwatchplayer, remains a somewhat polarizing figure on the gaming scene. This is in part due to his outspoken nature that occasionally led to clashes with other internet celebrities, as well as recurring relationship drama with Adept, another popular Twitch streamer from Texas.
