The terrain generation inMinecraftoften present players with strange abnormalities in their worlds, but one rather unfortunate fan is denied access to the End dimension after they discover a Stronghold containing a portal that has been cut in half due to a glitch in world generation. While it’s certainly a rare occurence, some otherMinecraftplayers have actually ran into similar such issues before, particularly on the game’s Bedrock Edition where technical problems are notoriously common.
Strongholds inMinecraft, as many players surely already know, offer the means to access theEnd dimension where the Ender Dragon can be battled. These abandoned facilities are typically located deep underground, usually consisting of a sprawling network of stone tunnels and chambers where hostile mobs reside. Finding them is usually the hard part - while they can be discovered accidentally through regular underground exploration, their lengthy distance from the world’s spawn point means that locating them usually requires a handful of Eyes of Ender. Players will need these rare items anyway if they’re looking to explore a Stronghold, as the artifacts are required to activate the dormant End portal that can be found at the heart of most Strongholds.

That is, if theMinecraftstructure actually contains an End portalthat is correctly and fully generated. One fan known as Superior_UwU on Reddit shared a post on the site showing a half-portal that they found instead, the important structure split in half due to a weird terrain generation issue. The attached image shows half of the portal room existing as normal, with the other half instead consisting of a solid wall of deepslate. Issues such as this can be the result of several bugs, such as either another structure generating through the Stronghold or the Stronghold getting cut off on the edge of a chunk boundary.
The latter is a known bug onMinecraft’s Bedrock Edition, and is usually prone to occurring when unexplored neighboring chunks are loaded after the game has been updated to a new version. The game’s Bedrock Edition, thestandard versionMinecraftthat is available on most platforms, is infamous for its wealth of bugs that are commonly encountered and reported by players.
The state of this version of the game has been the subject of annoyance for many players, with somewhat commonly-occurring bugs involving taking damage or even dying for no reason at all. Mojang continues to provide fixes and support forboth ofMinecraft’s versions with every update, as the developer is striving to make the two editions on par with each other.
