The hugely ambitious modSkyblivion, which is an unofficial remake ofObliviondone inSkyrim, is still a couple of years away, but in the meantime, the developer has shown off a whopping four hours of gameplay footage from the project as it currently stands. Seeing as bothTES4andTES5are considered by many to be thebestElder Scrollsgamesof the series, many have been hugely anticipating the arrival of this fan-made project, which aims to bring the former to newer audiences.
With the original game coming out nearly 17 years ago, it’s not surprising that there aretons ofOblivionmodsout there which enhance the experience with graphical improvements, custom quests and characters, or some general quality-of-life tweaks. All of these help to keep the aged Bethesda RPG in the gaming limelight, even if it has been eclipsed by its 2011 successor. However, few mods are quite as lofty as this one that’s been in development for years, and while there’s still a long wait till release, fans can at least check out what the unofficial remake looks like so far.

Because it’s being built inSkyrim’s Creation Engine, which some would say is not thebest game engine in the world, it will giveObliviona more modern facelift. So far, the team has done exceptional work, and it certainly looks like the fan remake won’t disappoint when it finally does release.
