Destiny 2offers a variety of game modes for players to check out, like PvP through theCrucible playlists, PvP through Vanguard playlists, and a mix of both PvP and PvE with Gambit. There are different experiences within those modes as well, with Vanguard letting players check out Battlegrounds, Strike maps, and Nightfalls, and the Crucible giving players a range of PvP modes to check out.
There are some Crucible modes that cycle in and out ofDestiny 2, but one constant is the Elimination game mode. This 3v3 game mode has simple rules. Everyone gets a single life each round with no respawns, but players are able to revive their downed teammates. It fosters a more competitive atmosphere than the otherDestiny 2Crucible modes that aren’tTrials of Osirisand can lead to some rather intense encounters.

It’s not uncommon forDestiny 2players to find “sweatier” opponents and teammates in Elimination than they would in, say, Control, with most players going all out trying to win. This can also lead to some frustration, and so it’s not terribly uncommon for people to rage quitmatches ofDestiny 2Elimination. Players quitting Elimination inDestiny 2can result in a 3 on 1 situation, where one person decides to see the match to its conclusion despite their extremely low odds of winning.
That’s exactly what happened withDestiny 2player and Reddit user A_Bic_Boi, who shared a wholesome clip of the last time that this happened to them in Elimination. Their teammates quit after losing the first two rounds of Elimination, and while that would’ve meant an easy victory for the enemy team, they instead decided to make peace.
The clip shows theDestiny 2players emotingwith A_Bic_Boi on the map Exodus Blue before they all run away and jump off to their demise. Everyone on the enemy team then decides to quit the match, which results in an automatic victory for A_Bic_Boi. Crucible victories help players level up their rank and get better rewards, so this was definitely a nice gesture on the part of A_Bic_Boi’s opponents, especially since they had a massive advantage with the 3 on 1 scenario.
Victories inDestiny 2’s Crucible are especially important for those who are trying to complete all of the seasonal challenges. Completing all of the seasonal challenges inDestiny 2’s Season of the Lostrequires players to reach max level in Crucible twice so they can get a seasonal ornament, so every victory counts.
Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
