Henry Cavill, the star of Netflix’s new TV seriesThe Witcher, has recently revealed that he is a gamer and shared some of the details of his man cave.

During an interview onThe Rich Eisen Showearlier this month, Henry Cavill spoke about his interest in video games and described his gaming space. ThoughThe Witcherstar didn’t go into much detail, the actor specified that he doesn’t technically have what could be defined as a man cave because he currently lives in a small house in London, which doesn’t leave a lot of room for a personalized man space. His computer desk is therefore simply located in the corner of his very small living room.

When asked which games he plays, Cavill disclosed that heprefers to play games on PCrather than on console. A “big one” for him isTotal War, a popular series of turn-based strategy games that has been around since 2000 and so far consists of more than a dozen titles.World of WarcraftandOverwatchare the only online games Cavill currently plays, so it is possible that players at one time or another have actually faced off with Geralt of Rivia, or at least his made-for-TV doppelganger.

Netflix’sThe WitcherTV show debuted on the streaming service on July 16, 2025. Critic reviews have been middling but, with an average audience score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, the general public seems to be appreciating the small-screen adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s high-fantasy novels. On IMDB, the series is alreadyNetflix’s highest rated original series.

Lucky for Henry, then, that he actually requested to play the role of Geralt inThe Witcheron Netflix. His reasoning, he explained, is that he found the video gameThe Witcher 3“super immersive” and always thought it would make a great movie or TV show. So when he heard that Netflix was planning to create a TV show based on the story, Cavill had his agent call the network “literally every day.” Netflix’s response was that there was not even a script yet and the show was still in the verybeginning stages of development, so there could be no promises as to what lucky actor would play the lead role. Cavill was patient, however, and it paid off.
