Evokers inWorld of Warcraftmay just get their third specialization after all, as players are coming across an unfinished quest on the Public Test Realm that heavily implies an upgrade for the new class added inDragonflight. Several months have passed since Evokers made their debut with the launch ofDragonflight, and public opinion on the newcomers has begun to crystalize in theWorld of Warcraftcommunity. The verdict has been trending in the right direction when it comes to gameplay, as Preservation Evokers in particular have been a shining star in bothVault of the Incarnates andDragonflightSeason 1.

It hasn’t all been positive, however, as manyWorld of Warcraftplayers feel the customization options for Evokers when it comes to gear is disappointing, to say the least. Being able to display shoulder and waist items only, Blizzard tried to make sure that Evokers had plenty of options during character creation to allow players to suitably personalize their Dracthyr, but the system hasn’t quite made the impression on fans that the developers may have been hoping for.

While there seem to be no plans yet to address the player desire to display more of their transmog outside their visage form, the latest speculation on the Public Test Realm concerns the possibility thatDracthyr Evokers may get a third specializationin the upcoming patch. The topic was broached on the officialWorld of Warcraftsubreddit by the humorously named IonHazzikostasIsGod, who submitted a photo of an unfinished quest that allegedly will make Dracthyr “remember” a new specialization.

Some players have even taken their speculation a bit further, and explored the possibility that Blizzard changed its opinion onDracthyr not getting otherWorld of Warcraftclasses, especially given the fact that Dracthyr Warriors were rather obviously present in the Dragonflight Legacies animated shorts. More measured voices, however, focused on theorizing how this third specialization would fit into the Evoker’s arsenal. The most common suggestions were a fully ranged or tanking role with powers themed around the Black Dragonflight, as much of Patch 10.0.7 dealt with unearthing the history of the Black Dragonflight.

With Embers of Neltharion also focusing on the legacy of Deathwing throughWorld of Warcraft’s newest zone in Patch 10.1, it would be the perfect opportunity for Blizzard to continue the precedent it established when Feral Druid split off into its Guardian specialization, and give Evokers a more complete class fantasy, as befits their archetype of a Dragon Knight channeling the power of the five Dragonflights. Though this is not a direct confirmation that the third specialization for Evokers will ever make it to the live servers, it is the most concrete piece of evidence that Blizzard isn’t quite done with the Dracthyr or their Evokers just yet.
