Some gamers might be surprised to know that theYu-Gi-Ohseries is still pumping out games to this day, and some might even have been excited whenYu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolutionlaunched on Switch earlier this year. The relatively well-received title managed to duck under the current fad ofreview bombing Switch exclusiveslong enough to earn itself ports to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The announcement forLink Evolutionno longer being a Switch exclusive comes from straight from publisher Konami at Jump Festa 2020 this past weekend. Konami went on to confirm the new platform releases on the company’s official website, claiming that the game will be available at some point in 2020 in Japan.

Since the game launched,Link Evolutionhas enjoyed a fairly positive response from the still thriving fanbase forYu-Gi-Ohinspired video games. Taking a similar approach to the Trading Card Game asMagic: The Gathering Arena, theLink Evolutiontitle gives players a chance to use and learn about the massive collection of cards currently available in the series before buying the cards. Players can build decks from a list of over 9,000 cards and duel AI combatants as well as online players, givingYu-Gi-Ohpros a chance to test metas long before searching online for specific cards.
However, players will soon be able to try outLink Evolutionon their gaming platform of choice, thanks to the game spreading out onto PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. At the moment, only the Japanese release has been confirmed, and an exact date still hasn’t even been announced for this release. This recent announcement also came with news about an update coming to the Switch version in 2020 as well.
For anyone looking to get intoYu-Gi-Oh,either for the first time or returning,Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution’s newest platform releases should be a great introduction to the series. Fans of the series have so far enjoyed the Switch version ofLink Evolution, and with a larger audience to reach out to, it’s likely to gain even more attention in 2020. It is yet to be seen if the new ports will include the latest updates, or if it will release as the original build that first arrived on Switch.
