Recent updates toYu-Gi-Oh Master Duelhave seen the game’s competitive meta swing towards a variety of powerful new decks. The release of “Purrely” would introduce a unique Xyz Monster-based strategy, revolving around the titular Monster boosting itself with the archetype’s Quick-Play Spell cards. Konami revealed the newest update toYu-Gi-Oh Master Duel’s banlist earlier this week, set to go into effect on December 5. The update does not feature any new cards added to the “Forbidden” category, but does limit two cards to one copy per deck. “Runick Fountain” serves as a core piece of multiple strategies with its unique effects, letting players activate Runick Quick-Play Spells at any time and drawing additional cards. “Mathmech Diameter” is used inthe fan-favorite “Mathmech” deckas a way to Special Summon other Mathmech Monsters and negate the opponent’s card effects.

Semi-Limited

Unlimited

The Semi-Limited section of the banlist features a staggering eight cards moved to two copies per deck. Several of the game’s strongest decks received hits as part of the banlist, including the previously mentioned “Purrely” losing a copy of both its ace monster and the “Purrely Delicious Memory” Spell.Other popular staple Spell cardslike “Pot of Desires” and “Cynet Mining” were also semi-limited within the update. The banlist sees two cards returning to Unlimited status in December, including the powerful Xyz Monster “Zoodiac Drident” and “Lyrilusc - Cobalt Sparrow.”
