At a recent preview event forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players discovered that the game brings back dungeons, which fans criticized the previous game for not having them. With just a few weeks to go before launch, Nintendo has finally pulled the curtain back on the upcomingTears of the Kingdom. The most recent trailer was filled with story beats, giving fans insight into new gameplay, enemies, and even a shot at theTears of the Kingdomversion of Ganondorf. While the trailer seemed to reveal more in three minutes than Nintendo had over the course of the game’s development, there remain some things that the company prefers not to discuss and would rather fans discover for themselves. As such, there’s been no shortage of fan theories especially when it comes topossible time travel inside ofTears of the Kingdom. One such topic of conversation also revolved around the idea of dungeons, a traditional Zelda feature which largely went missing inside ofBreath of the Wild. While Nintendo continues to stay silent on the topic, a player who attended the preview event opts to seemingly put the speculation to rest once and for all.RELATED:Some Gamers May Already Have Early Copies of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomOver on Twitter, a couple ofTears of the Kingdompreview attendees seemingly pushed their luck with Nintendo, discovering a location that representatives quickly told them to not enter. Washington Post writer Gene Park, who was later referenced by the Twitch personality HMKilla seemingly found a strange entrance after solving a world puzzle while exploring the sky islands. As the entrance opened, a Nintendo rep told Park to not enter inside. However, Park could see a bit inside and noted that the area looked mysterious and unlike anything that was offered in Breath of the Wild.

While the news should pleaseZelda fans who were missing the more complex dungeon environments inBreath of the Wild, there are some who continue to wonder how far Nintendo is going with it. Some responses to the news questioned if the newly discovered spaces will offer a more traditional Zelda dungeon experience, or perhaps the shorter Shrine experiences from the previous game.

Many fans are clearly hoping for a return of the traditional dungeon format inTears of the Kingdom, which was only highened after the most recent trailer. In addition to Ganondorf, players also saw what appeared to be some sort of fire hydra boss battle. This reveal has led many to believe thatNintendo has brought back the classic 1986Zeldaboss Gleeok, with different variations being the final battle in numerous dungeons.
